First, your level
An open match is offered to players within a level range, calculated around yours. Without a level, the range is calculated around zero and nobody will be able to join you, unless you choose All levels.
On your dashboard, tap Start under Complete the level questionnaire.
Answer the seven questions (experience, how often you play, technique, tactics, competition), then tap Submit.
Your level then becomes more precise with each ranked match.
Create the match
In the Book tab, choose the club and the day, tap a free slot, then the Open match card.
Choose the level range.
Tight (within 0.3 of your level), Medium (0.7), Wide (1.2) or All levels. Only players within the range can join. The wider it is, the faster the match fills. The app remembers your last choice.
Ranked match is on by default: the score will count toward the level of all four players.
Turn it off for a friendly match.
Read the What happens next box: your share, and when it will be charged if the club takes payment online.
Tap the Publish button, which shows the amount.
If the club takes payment online, enter your card in the Stripe window and tap Pay: your share is authorized, not yet charged.
On your own, or as two at the last minute
Each club sets a fill deadline, between 2 and 48 hours before the match. The screen tells you which case applies to you:
- Before this deadline, you can publish on your own: you pay your share, and the other three spots are open.
- Once this deadline has passed, an open match requires two shares. You choose a second player under Who the 2nd share is for and you pay their share: they play without paying anything. The last two spots stay open.
Share the match link
Once the match is published, the Match published screen shows the Match link.
Tap Share the link: your phone's share menu opens (WhatsApp, text message, club group…).
On a computer, the link is copied: paste it wherever you like.
Tap Invite to send an email invitation to a player who already has an account.
Your usual partners are suggested first. For another player, search by first and last name, or by email address.
The match also appears in the Join tab for players looking for a match at this club, with the names and levels of those signed up.
If the match doesn't fill up
- At the fill deadline, the spots still free go on discount (usually 20%) to attract players.
- At charge time, a match that is still incomplete is cancelled automatically. Nothing is charged: authorizations are released, credit is returned, and each player receives an email.
- When the match is full, all four shares are charged at the same time, shortly before the match.
Cancel your match
As the match creator, you can't just drop out: cancelling means cancelling the match for everyone. Open My Matches, tap Cancel under the match, read what will happen, then confirm.
Before charge time, cancelling is free for everyone. After that, your share is not refunded, but the other players' shares are. Remember to let the players who signed up know.
Frequently asked questions
I already have a partner. How do I get them into the match?
Send them the match link: they join, pick the spot next to yours and pay their share.
My friend doesn't have an account. Can they join?
Yes: the link takes them through creating their free account, then brings them back to the match once they are logged in.
Who sees my match?
Logged-in players looking for a match at this club. Those whose level is outside the range see it greyed out and can't join.
Can I pay for everyone?
Not in an open match: everyone pays their own share. To pay for the whole court, book a private match.
